Episode 19 of season 2 of the most recent run of the series Kaiketsu Zorori, which has been around in both books and anime since the late 80's. It is primarily an anime for kids and middle-aged men. :P The show follows Zorori and his companions Ishishi and Noshishi as they travel the world having adventures and trying to help Zorori reach his dream of getting his own castle and a wife.
The show contains an abundance of comedy, mostly puns and dad jokes (of which Zorori is a master) as well as some slapstick, situational comedy, and... more than a few fart jokes. It is populated with a vast cast of characters, both taken from the original Kaiketsu Zorori books and manga as well as original characters for the anime. There is the occasional mini-arc, and there is continuity in the characters remembering previous adventures and growing their relationships, but it is primarily an episodic show with each new episode a self-contained story.
While it is a kids anime, Zorori is a wanted criminal and his methods of acquiring food are not always legal. He is often at odds with local law enforcement and has helped overthrow some corrupt or tyrannical rulers, though most of his adventures showcase his kindheartedness and resourcefulness. He is a daring rogue who prefers to solve his problems with cunning and skill, though he has been shown to be a competent fighter on occasion.
Is it for you? Well... probably not. :/ But maybe! It really is a very good comedy, with some enjoyable characters and fun adventures. But the simple fact that it is a kids show turns... well... pretty much everyone away. *sigh*

This was definitely one of Zorori's best chances at achieving his dream, but... I'm still holding out for more of Rose. :P
